The Goring and Streatley Young Musicians Trust is a registered charity set up by a group of people who believe strongly that there should be no financial barriers to children being able to experience the joys and benefits of making music.

  • Activities: To promote, improve, develop, maintain and advance education, skills, appreciation and participation in the art and science of music for young people in the communities of Goring and Streatley and the surrounding areas

  • Governance: Established by execution of deed of trust on the 3 February 2024 updated and entered onto the Register of Charities on the 19 September 2024 as Registered Charity Number 1210126.

  • Trustees: Paul Gillion, Ruth Jolly, Claire Salmon, David Salmon

Through the generosity of our donor community, fundraising activities and grant- giving organisations, we raised enough to fund the activities detailed on our What we do section for the first year.  We are now looking to secure funding for the second year and beyond and to build sustainability into our model. Our ultimate goal is for every child at school in the Goring and Streatley area to take their first musical steps for free and to support follow-on activities for those who wish to continue.

Whole Class Ensemble Teaching (WCET)

Our first project is to enable WCET in collaboration with our local primary schools without any net cost to schools or to parents.
