Whole Class Ensemble Teaching

Whole Class Ensemble Teaching (WCET)

Our first project is to enable Whole Class Ensemble Teaching (WCET) in collaboration with our local primary schools and county music hubs without any net cost to schools or to parents. Whole Class Ensemble Teaching is a successful scheme detailed in the UK Government's National Plan for Music Education and its key objective is to provide school children with the opportunity to learn an instrument.

The Trust paid for a term of brass lesssons at Goring Primary in September 2024 which was was described by their headmistress as “a resounding success” and by the participants as "BRILLIANT", "I really liked it", and "Amazing!!!"

We are working with Streatley primary school do so something similar next summer.

The Trust will also put on special workshops designed to follow-on from WCET and introducing the experience of playing in ensembles (see our Brass Discovery Day).  The Trust intends also to provide support towards private or small-group lessons for those who wish to continue after their term of WCET introductory lessons.
