Welcome!

The Goring and Streatley Young Musicians Trust was established in February 2024 to support music-making opportunities for young people in our communities.

The advantages of developing musical skills at all ages have been well-documented however children's musical education is at risk from the cost of living crisis, escalating costs and uncertainty around government funding.  Our charitable aims and activities therefore include:

  • enabling children to learn a musical instrument at primary school for free

  • provide bursaries for follow-on tuition and access to instruments

  • encourage and increase participation in our local community music scene

Explore our website for more infomation and if you would like to help in any way, please follow the at the bottom of the page - and thank you.

With thanks to Pangbourne College Community Fund, we are running the first of our "Discovery Day" workshops designed for young brass players who may have only had a few lessons or who are thinking of taking up a brass instrument.  Presented by professional musicians with an experienced ensemble we hope this one hour FREE interactive programme will  provide a glimpse as to what is possible and encourage novices to continue!
